The closest airport, Sá Carneiro Airport in Porto, is about 50km away from the city (by car). You can rent a car at the airport, travel by metro ("purple" line) to Campanhã station and follow the train, or catch one of the GETBUS with direct connection to the city of Guimarães.

By Metro:

To leave the airport just take the Metro (line "Violet") and follow to Campanhã station.

By Train

If you choose to travel by train from Porto, Campanhã Station will be your departure / arrival point.

To make the trip Porto - Guimarães, just take the green line to Guimarães and in about 1h30 you will be in this beautiful city.

By Bus

If you come from Porto, the trip lasts 1h.

If you come from Porto, the trip takes around 1h. You should follow the A3 and then take the A7 to Guimarães.

If you are coming from Lisbon, take the A1 about 350km to the A7 exit. Drive another 6km and you will be in the city of Guimarães.

On foot! The best way to know the city.

The city's main attractions are within a 1.5km / 2km radius of both the bus station and the train station, so the best option for getting to know the city is to venture out on foot.
